New Edition Bookshop is a place for lovers of fine books.

From its humble beginnings in a small store on South Terrace over 50 years ago, New Edition is now happily ensconced in the old Union Stores building on the corner of High and Henry Streets.

A Fremantle institution, New Edition is a must for those who love to browse; to touch, feel and be surrounded by books of all genres.

We are open 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, 363 days a year. We only close Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Returns Policy

Returns are subject to the following conditions:

1. Returns will be accepted up to 30 days from purchase.

2. Returns must be accompanied by proof of purchase.

3. New Edition will not give cash refunds (unless the book is defective). Instead, returned items can be exchanged for another book of the same value or for the equivalent amount of store credit.

4. Returned items must be in a saleable condition.

5. Special order titles cannot be returned or exchanged.

Extended Christmas Returns Policy

1. Purchases made between the 1st October to the 24th of December can be returned for exchange or store credit until the end of January the following year.

2. All other other terms and conditions included in our returns policy remain unchanged during this period.

Gift Voucher Policy

We provide gift vouchers in store for any nominated value. Gift vouchers are subject to the following conditions:

1. Gift vouchers do not expire.

2. New Edition cannot replace lost gift vouchers, even with proof of purchase.

3. If requested, gift vouchers can be sent by mail, or stored behind the counter for the recipient to collect.

4. New Edition gift vouchers can be redeemed at Crow Books in East Victoria Park and Pigface Bookstore in Perth. Vouchers from those stores can be used at New Edition.
