We invite you to join Alan Wearne as he celebrates the launch of his new poetry collection, Mixed Business. 

A sequence of inter-connected narratives from pre-World War I to the 2020s, Mixed Business is Wearne’s latest contribution to the verse-novel genre. Propelled at times by politics, there is of course plenty of room for satire. The tales range from tragedy to tragicomedy to comedy to farce, with all the muses contributing. With over one hundred characters in the cast, this is a book that can be seen as a risky, imaginative, large-scale history of 20th and 21st Century urban Australia.

The book will be launched by Josh Wilson MP (Federal Member for Fremantle), followed by a riveting performance from Wearne as he shares a selection of his poems. Light food will be provided, with drinks available from the bar.
